Sober Mom Life Community

"I was about three weeks into my sober journey when I discovered Suzanne’s podcast and was instantly hooked. After listening to episode after episode, my 30 day “break” from drinking turned into a new way of life. Never before had ditching the booze been a realistic option for me. The concept was so foreign, and I could not imagine life without boozy date nights, black out weekends, and tipsy holidays.

Hearing Suzanne and guests talk about their fun, full, exciting lives post-alcohol was the inspiration I needed. It truly kept me going during the hard times. After a couple of months of immersing myself in the podcast, I joined the café and signed up for the first SML retreat. I have since attended a second SML retreat and am signed up to go again next spring.

Anyone can stop drinking on a whim, but the key to sustained sobriety is the type of community The Sober Mom Life provides. Coming from a small town that completely worships the bottle, I am so thankful Suzanne has created a space of support, understanding, and acceptance for those of us who simply want more. I will forever credit Suzanne and the ladies over at the SML for giving me the encouragement and fortitude to be the hero in my own story."

"When I decided to give sobriety a try 16 months ago, I had no idea how I would stay sober. I only knew of the ways that most had spoken of when a decision was made it was time to stop, and I was not sure if that route was for me.

Other than that I had no direction, I just knew if I did not drink that meant I was sober. Then one day I decided to do a quick google search, I typed sober mom. This simple search led me to what has now become the best sobriety tool I could have found, The Sober Mom Life. From that point on The Sober Mom Life became my life line, at a time I didn’t even know I needed one.

Hearing Suzanne’s story, and the stories of the women on her podcast helped me feel less alone. The community she created since she made her own decision to quit drinking has not only helped me stay sober, but has also taught me how to find enjoyment in my sobriety. The relationships with the women that I have connected with through SML, go further than the weekly Zoom calls. They are women that I have shared and grown with over the past year. I can confidently say, they have become my friends. Where I am in my sobriety is due to the work I have put in, but part of the joy I have found is from the community The Sober Mom Life has brought into my life. They say community is everything when you become sober, and I am beyond grateful to have found Suzanne and The Sober Mom Life to help guide me to where I am today.

"Joining the Sober Mom Life Cafe has been a game changer for my sobriety. Being a part of this group of encouraging and supportive women, not only in sobriety but in motherhood as well, has given me a sense of community that I have been missing most of my adult life.

The meetings are like catching up with old friends and the chat helps us stay connected in our moments of joy and weakness. I've been sober for over a year and a half and I contribute a lot of my success to the SML cafe and podcast. In a world inundated with alcohol culture, it's helpful to know there are other women out there just like me choosing to live alcohol free.

I've learned invaluable tips to handling difficult situations and celebrated wins with women all across the world. There truly is so much freedom in sobriety! I am so thankful Suzanne created this space for us. It has changed, and likely saved, my life."
